About MCMW
McMinnville Weather was initially made as a confined local
weather research site related to the location (NW Oregon) in 2004.
Through out a 3 year span, McMinnville Weather.com expanded to serve
the Pacific Northwest. Now that's a big jump from a small locale, to
a big scale region. Once 2007 arrived, McMinnville Weather
experience fatal technical issues, which went unresolved for the
next two years.
McMinnville Weather proved popular, especially the Weather Blog,
which was added on to the site as a 50/50 option. With the success,
more features were brought up for addition until the fatal technical
failures were experienced.
A New Page and a New Message
November 16th, 2009, McMinnville Weather.com Officially
re-opened, but this time, with a different approach. We still cover
the Pacific Northwest, as well as we will still be offering research
articles and reports. The site will rely heavily on the user
participation, and the future of the site relies on people like you
who come back and bookmark this site looking for new and intriguing
information about weather, as well as offering information you may
want to share with the rest of us.
About the Creator
Born in June of 1988, I grew up with passion and desires. At the
time, I wasn't sure what would interest me and take me to that next
level in life, but boy did that change in first grade. Thanks to my
first grade teacher (Mrs. Rima), she implemented a weather course.
At first, I hadn't a clue to how weather works and what exactly
weather was in the first place. At the time, it was mid to late
fall, so the weather was at least, very active at that time.
As we began to go
on with the course, something that I have never seen..at least to my
memory at that point, started slowly drifting down from the sky. At
first, I thought they were chicken feathers falling down. But as I
stood in more amazement, the pooring rain that was, was now white
chunks' of..feathers..falling from the sky. I then turned to my
teacher and asked her why there were so many feathers outside, and
of course with a huge grin on her face, she sat me down and
explained what it was.
From that time on,
I have always wanted to learn how the weather works, how snow forms,
what makes it snow..and today, gives me the passion that I have now
in weather. In High School, they had nothing to offer in the field
of weather, so I was on my own in terms of learning more about the
weather. I took it into my own hands and would spend time in the
public library checking out advanced college textbooks. By the time
I was a Junior, I was interpreting weather models and making my own
forecast's.
Since then, I have
taken 2 years of college classes in Meteorology.
